Let it Be a Tale

After sell-out Brighton Festival shows BAKKHAI and Romeo & Juliet, ThirdSpace Theatre welcomes you to Brighton Dome, for the world premier of a spectacular and moving winter’s tale.

We are all formed of stories. We all carry our stories with us and pass them down. When someone dies, we keep their memory alive through stories. When cultures are under threat, we keep them alive through stories.

In a moment where all is lost, a child calls out to an ancient storyteller who comes to restore hope through funny and traditional tales.

Let it Be a Tale will burst onto the stage with colour, sound, vibrancy, and fun. Weaving folk stories from Ukraine, North and West Africa, the Middle East, and beyond, these young actors combine song, movement, chorus, and live music from Best Foot Music.

For brave children aged 8 to 108

Please note:

Although the piece is set during wartime, there are no sudden explosions or upsetting/graphic moments. As with all of our work, it has been devised by and co-created with the young people of ThirdSpace. It includes elements of sadness in the music and storytelling, which are used to celebrate diverse cultures and provide joy during the winter months.
