Join as a Board Member and Shape Youth Theatre’s Future
We are looking for adults and young people to join our board of directors!
Are you age 18+
Do you share our passion for creating powerful theatre and changing lives?
Do you want to use your voice and experience to become a decision-maker at ThirdSpace Theatre?
Why not join us as a member of the board?
We are on the lookout for new members to our Board of Directors, supporting us to realise our goals and continue to support young people in Brighton, Hove, and Lewes.
About ThirdSpace Theatre
ThirdSpace Theatre is a community interest company, which transforms the lives of children and young people in Brighton, Hove, and Lewes through access to theatre and all the creativity that comes with it. We offer drama lessons, productions, workshops, and training in all aspects of theatre-making, as well as mentoring young people to become changemakers, leaders, and into paid positions with the company.
Over a third of our places are free of charge and attended by young people who cannot pay because of their situation or background.
ThirdSpace is in a period of exciting change. We have an expanding and increasingly diverse fundraising portfolio, healthy membership, and superb professional reputation in the city and beyond. We’re looking to the future and want your input on what that future might look like.
We serve a population of over 220 young people from ages 6 to 26.
We have an 11 year history of delivering high-quality and inclusive drama classes and productions.
Areas of expertise that are not currently covered in our Board include Finance, HR, and Governance.
We are looking for people who genuinely champion diversity, who are ambitious and will bring fresh thinking to help us, as an organisation, push boundaries and grow.
ThirdSpace values diversity, promotes equality, and challenges discrimination. We are actively seeking to increase the diversity of the Board and welcome applications from groups that are currently under-represented, so that the Board better reflects the diversity of our young people and the wider community.
We are not necessarily looking for people with previous Director experience. And we are not looking for Directors to be involved at a day-to-day operational level.
We need new Directors who will help us shape the big decisions, set strategy, develop the audiences we engage with. And, of course, Directors who share our passion for theatre, young people and believe in the contribution it can make to an open, diverse and inclusive society.
Is this you?
Will you join the ThirdSpace team and help drive the next part of our journey?
Or do you know someone who can?
If so, we would encourage you to apply.
