Young Writers’ Festival 2026

It’s great that you or your young person is interested in joining our Young Writers Festival this summer!

Please read the below info before filling in and submitting the form.

We are excited to announce that, following the success of our first ever Young Writers’ Festival in 2025, the festival will return for a second edition this year. Last year, more than 10 young writers took part, developing new work for actors to perform for a live audience at the festival. This year, we are looking for more writers to join ThirdSpace creative writing group and get involved in this exciting opportunity.

Join us at the writing club on Mondays 6:40-8:10pm at Brighton Youth Centre starting from Monday 19th January to start preparing for the festival!

Perhaps you’re already a keen writer in your spare time, or perhaps you have loads of ideas but haven’t managed to get them down yet, or perhaps you are simply curious about creative writing and want to give it a try in a friendly, non-judgmental space. No experience of script writing is necessary – our focus is on writing as an act of curiosity and creativity, not spelling and rules. ThirdSpace tutor Zoe Alexander (lead writer on Let it Be A Tale, 2024) will be there to guide you through the process of writing a short piece for the stage and offer support in a relaxed group setting. You will develop your project in writing sessions across this term, culminating in the chance to direct your work and watch it performed by actors at the festival.

We welcome those from both minoritised groups and low-income families.

Sessions will be on Mondays at Brighton Youth Centre in the Digital Room (entrance via the front and then up the stairs) 6:40-8:10pm. The festival will take place in July.
