What happens when the rules disappear?
This summer, ThirdSpace presents another exciting, bold production with themes close to the young people performing it.
William Golding’s Lord of the Flies — the story of a group of young people stranded on an island, forced to build their own society from scratch.
At its heart, the play asks unsettling questions: what could happen when the structures we rely on suddenly disappear? And who creates those structures in the first place? As fear grows and power shifts, friendships fracture and the line between cooperation and conflict begins to blur.
That’s why the story still feels strikingly relevant today. In a world impacted by peer pressure, uncertainty, group identities, and the pull of belonging, Lord of the Flies reminds us how quickly people can be swept along by fear, power, and the need to fit in.
Playful, intense and youth-led, this ThirdSpace production puts the voices and energy of its young performers right at the centre of the story.
The Old Market – 11th July
This production is presented alongside Antigone. One ticket entitles you to see both youth-led productions.
