MACBETH auditions

It’s great that you or your young person is interested in auditioning for our production of Macbeth! We’re so excited to be performing this amazing classic. It will be such a brilliant opportunity for young people to gain hands-on experience of working with Shakespeare, especially if they’re going into or studying for their GCSEs!

Please read the below info before filling in and submitting the form.

Audition Dates (please come along to whichever is best for you)

📅 Tuesday 16th December

⏱️ 5 – 8pm

📍 Brighton Youth Centre, Edward Street, BN2 0JR (performance space – the entrance is round the back through the courtyard on Grosvenor Street)

OR

📅 Wednesday 17th December

📍 Brighton Youth Centre, Edward Street, BN2 0JR (Youth Club 2 – the entrance is on Edward Street and the room is on the 3rd floor, which is accessible via the stairs or the lift)

If you are cast in the play and accept the role, you will be required to join a club (if you’re not already a member) and pay a Macbeth rehearsal contribution (subs). Our club rates are also offered at a subsidised level. Our free place policy will apply for this opportunity!

In the past we have cast very confident 12 & 13 year olds, so get in touch if that’s you!

We welcome those from both minoritised groups and low-income families.

Schedule

To start with, we will rehearse for three hours on Tuesdays after school. As the performance dates approach, we will add Saturday and some Sunday rehearsals, as well as one dedicated week in July after term finishes.

Please see this calendar for actual dates.

The performance run is currently planned to take in September 2026 at an exciting established venue (to be announced). Please note, performance dates are still TBC.

We are looking at daytime and evening performances to bring in both school groups and the wider public and so will be securing child performance licences if necessary so children/young people will be granted permission to be absent from school.

Membership costs (monthly)

£53 for a 2 hour club (£39.50 subsidised rate) / £39.50 for a 1.5 hour club (£23.70 subsidised rate)

£24 Macbeth subs (£14 subsidised rate) – this is a contribution towards rehearsal space, costumes, and staffing

We also offer free and pay-what-you-can spaces across all of our clubs and shows for those who meet the following criteria:
