Brighton’s Newest Adult Drama Class — No Experience Needed

We’ve heard you asking — and we’re finally delivering. ThirdSpace Theatre is launching its first-ever adult acting classes, and we’d love you to be part of it.

Whether you’ve never set foot on a stage or you’re a seasoned performer looking to reignite your creativity, this five-week course is designed for you. Expect a warm, playful environment where curiosity is encouraged, mistakes are celebrated, and every session leaves you energised.

What You’ll Explore

This block focuses on comedy, improvisation, and devising scenes from everyday life — a brilliant mix of practical techniques and genuine fun. Over five sessions you’ll develop:

  • Improvisation skills — spontaneity, listening, and thinking on your feet
  • Character creation — building believable, engaging characters for stage or screen
  • Scene work — drawing from film and stage scripts to explore storytelling and stage presence
  • Confidence and presence — tools that are just as useful in everyday life as they are on stage

Each session includes a group check-in, warm-up, structured acting exercises, group discussion, and a gentle cool-down. You’re encouraged to take part fully — but you’ll always have the freedom to observe or step back when you need to.

Your Tutor: Angela El-Zeind

This course is led by Angela El-Zeind, a Brighton-based performer, director, and theatre facilitator with international experience across the UK, USA, Greece, and Cyprus.

Angela specialises in Theatre of the Oppressed, devised theatre, and improvisation, and has been developing forum theatre and community performance work since 2008. She is the founder of Speak Up! Act Out! theatre company, and lectures in Theatre Performance at Northbrook College and Portsmouth University.

Her sessions are known for being warm, rigorous, and genuinely transformative — whatever your starting point.
